ISS currently runs the volleyball season during the fall sport season. Usually having three teams between grades 6 and 12, as well as primary students. The two main competitions are the local VestCup, which is hosted by KFUM and the NECIS competition. The VestCup is for ALL levels of volleyball, but the NECIS competition is reserved only for the Varsity squad and will be held in Amsterdam for the year of 2010.

Erik Hove is excited to be coaching Girl’s Varsity Volleyball at ISS. Volleyball has been Erik’s passion since grade eight when he was attending the American School of Dubai (ASD) in the United Arab Emirates. He played on the JV and Varsity teams at ASD throughout his middle and high school career. While attending Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, Erik played for three years on the Men’s club team at Carleton and captained the team for a year. During his four years at Carleton Coach Hove also was a linesmen and the student assistant coach to the Women’s Varsity Volleyball team. Coach Hove teaches first grade and is excited to be teaching and coaching volleyball at ISS.

Pamela Taylor has played volleyball since her Secondary Education in Scotland.  After leaving school she played at District and National League levels.  Pamela now lives in Stavanger with her husband and children who all attend ISS, but before leaving Aberdeen, she was employed at Grampian Police.  From there, she has played with the Scottish and Great British Police volleyball teams.  Pamela was selected to play in the first six for the British Police team in all her 5 years of playing with them winning the Crown Services trophy for 3 of the latter years.  Pamela now looks forward to assist in coaching the ISS girls volleyball teams.
